Join us early in our organic growth with abundance of opportunities excelling your career. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Headteacher to lead Helm Academy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the school’s vision, curriculum, and policies while ensuring high-quality education and care for all students. Key Responsibilities The Headteacher plays a lead role in formulating the aims, objectives of the schools and establishing the policies through which they are to be achieved Lead by example, holding and articulating clear values and moral purpose, and focusing on providing excellent education for all pupils Provide direction and line management of the senior leadership team Be responsible for the standards and curriculum of all pupils including monitoring of progress towards achievement To have a central responsibility for raising the quality of teaching and learning and for pupils’ achievement. Setting high expectations and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of learning outcomes Manage safeguarding across the school and act according to Keeping Children Safe in Education. Provide curriculum leadership across the school Lead regular reviews of all school systems to ensure statutory requirements are being met and improved on where appropriate Lead on Ofsted inspections including the independent schools’ standards Manage staff development programmes and school resources Lead on formulating and reviewing the School Development Pl Building relationships and liaising with the local authorities and commissioning bodies. Being the forward face of the school and representing Helm Academy to the highest standards. Entry Requirements A committed and passionate view of students with SEND At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision QTS/QTLS is a requirement of this post NPQH/SL is desirable but not essential Significant experience in a leadership role within a SEN setting or a mainstream school with a commitment to inclusive education. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with SEN and effective strategies to address these. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
