Medical Interpreter

Job TitlePiedmont Global is a Strategic Globalization Organization (SGO) helping organizations communicate with intelligence, operate with cultural fluency, and connect effectively across communities and markets. We are currently expanding our network of freelance interpreters to provide on-site (OSI) language interpretation services between English and all spoken languages (EN?All Languages).Interpreters fluent in Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese are strongly encouraged to apply. These are "1099" (Independent Contractor) positions with the interpretation to take place on site (OS), via video (VRI) or over the phone (OPI), depending on our customers' specific needs.Interpreter Functions:Serve as an Interpreter between a wide range of people with diverse voices, accents, speaking tempos and personalities.Provide parties with clear and exact interpretations of verbal communication with no additions or omissions.Provide interpretations of questions, answers, statements, arguments, explanations, and other forms of verbal communication.Render sight translations of documents and other written materials, as needed.Impart thought, purpose, spirit, emotions, and tone of speaker from source language into target language, and vice-versa.Inform relevant parties of any factor that may hinder your performance.Comply with applicable ethics and standards.Requirements For Medical Interpreting Assignments:Completion of a recognized 40-hour medical interpreter training program or equivalent.At least two (2) years of interpreting experience in a healthcare setting, whether paid or volunteer.Professional proficiency in English and the target language(s).Two (2) relevant professional references, or one professional reference and one relevant letter of recommendation.Valid government-issued identification.Preferred Qualifications:Degree in interpretation, linguistics, languages, or a related field.Professional interpreter training of 40 hours or more, CCHI, or NBCMI.Relevant interpreting certifications or credentials.Previous language assessment or proficiency testing.Candidates are encouraged to provide copies of applicable certifications, training certificates, diplomas, or language assessment results.Benefits:Be considered for assignments that align with your language, location, qualifications, and availability.Access both on-site and remote interpreting opportunities as client needs arise.Build experience supporting a variety of organizations and communities.Join an established language network supporting 200+ languages and regional dialects.Ready to Connect With Us?
