Senior Research Analyst

DescriptionKforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Research Analyst in Boston, MA.Summary:We are seeking a Senior Research Finance Analyst to support grant and contract financial management within a research-focused environment. This role is responsible for managing post-award grant activities, conducting complex financial analysis, performing reconciliations, ensuring compliance with sponsor and regulatory requirements, and supporting leadership with reporting and special projects. The ideal candidate will have strong research finance experience, deep knowledge of grant accounting regulations, and the ability to independently identify and resolve financial issues in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Key Responsibilities:* Manage post-award grant and contract financial activities throughout the grant lifecycle* Review and monitor grant expenditures to ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines and Uniform Guidance regulations* Analyze allowable and unallowable costs and monitor indirect cost allocations* Perform complex financial reconciliations, reporting, and variance analysis* Support grant closeouts and required financial reporting activities* Conduct detailed analytical reviews and validate data across multiple reports and systems* Identify discrepancies, research root causes, and implement corrective solutions* Support research administration and grant financial management functions* Assist with portfolio coverage and analyst-level responsibilities as needed* Partner with leadership on special projects and process improvement initiatives* Support compliance, audit, and financial reporting requirements* Thrive in an evolving environment with changing priorities and non-standardized processesRequirements* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; Accounting degree strongly preferred* Research finance experience* Grant accounting experience* Experience with grant and contract financial management* Experience with post-award grant administration* Experience with indirect cost calculations* Experience supporting academic medical centers, hospitals, universities, research institutions, or nonprofit organizations* Knowledge of allowable versus unallowable costs* Strong understanding of Uniform Guidance regulations* Strong financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliation skills* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills* Strong attention to detail and accuracy* Reliable, responsive, and self-motivated* Ability to work independently with minimal direction* Ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to evolving processesPreferred Qualifications:* Workday experience* Federal grant experience* Experience supporting internal or external audits* Experience training, mentoring, or serving as a subject matter expert* Research administration backgroundKey Skills:* Research Finance* Grant Accounting* Post-Award Administration* Financial Analysis* Grant Compliance* Uniform Guidance* Cost Analysis* Indirect Cost Management* Financial Reporting* Account Reconciliations* Problem Solving* Data Validation* Sponsored Programs Finance* Microsoft Excel* Workday (Preferred)Job TypeContractCompensation45 - $47
