Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Oakland, Maryland. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/07/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Medical Surgical Floor Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing patient care for a diverse patient population with conditions such as cardiac, respiratory, post-operative, pediatric, and surgery recovery patients. The position requires strong Med/Surg skills and experience in using electronic medical record systems. Job Details Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS; Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Med/Surg setting; Valid license submission; Ability to read telemetry strips; Epic electronic health record experience. Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days shift from 6:45 AM to 7:15 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Responsibilities: Care for patients with diagnoses including congestive heart failure, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic issues, post‑op surgeries, pediatric patients, and general medical‑surgical cases. Additional Information: Floating to assist other units as needed. Unit orientation includes 3‑5 days of training covering policies, procedures, and departmental education. Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; ACLS and PALS recommended but not mandatory.
