Today over four decades later, our family owned, and operated company maintains the 24/7/365 core philosophy and has locations in Melville, NY, as well as Jessup, MD and Westborough, MA.Schedule: Hours: 2 pm - 10:30 pm; working five days a week. Days off Mon and Sun.Responsibilities:Control the receiving schedule through coordination with scheduler in NY Main Office.Perform receiving duties, recording, and checking quantity and quality of incoming product, imputing received shipment into computer system.Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, following all safety guidelines.Assist with training and development of Warehouse Personnel.Coordinate add-ons with customer service and the warehouse team.Liaise with Maintenance regarding warehouse equipment that needs repair. put out of service, as necessary.Check in and update team/ERP re damages and returns not delivered by drivers. Update system to reflect returns and damages.Deliver training daily for WMS for any employee needing training/retraining.Point person for the employee Cash and Carry programBe part of the Hiring Committee and making effective recommendations regarding the hiring of new employees from the perspective of inventory focus.Train and provide work direction to othersProvide all new hires with basic inventory management training during the onboarding process.Make effective recommendations regarding disciplinary action, including warnings, suspensions, and discharges.Use independent judgment when directing employees in inventory management matters.Use independent judgment when assigning work to employees relating to inventory management.Warehousing procedures including shipping, receiving, and ordering stock inventory procedures.Proper lifting techniquesSafety regulationsMaintain recordsMeet schedules and timelinesCommunicate effectively both orally and in writingEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.Manage daily dock operations, ensuring all outbound shipments are handled accurately and efficientlyPerform quality inspection of trucks prior to loading and after loading has been completedQualification Skills:Ability to train and mentor othersAbility to Influence Others, present to and train employees with a positive attitude.Work independently as well as part of a teamStrong mathematical and analytical skillsAbility to multitask and prioritizeExperience with Electric Pallet jacks and Forklifts requiredExcellent communication skillsComputer Skills, ideally WMSAbility to follow Safety ProtocolsRequirements:1 year experience in a leadership role2 years Inventory Experience / 2 years receiving experience.Ability to operate Warehouse Equipment; pallet jack; forklift; RF Scanner.Perform receiving duties, recording, and checking quantity and quality of incoming productThe ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularlyThe ability to respond quickly to soundsThe ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spacesThe ability to see and respond to dangerous situationsMust be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English to effectively communicate, follow written instructions, complete documentation, and ensure safety and accuracy in daily operationsWe are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer: Race, Religion, Color, National Origin, Citizenship, Sex, Age, Disability, Ancestry, Veteran Status, Genetic Information.
