Histology Technician Flint, MI Specialty: Histotechnologist Position Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Pay: $1044 - $1258 | Shift: 5x8 nights Are you a dedicated Histology Technician looking for your next opportunity to make a difference? Do you excel in preparing tissue samples for critical analysis? Join our team and contribute to meaningful work that impacts patient care and medical research. As a Histology Technician, you will play a vital role in preparing thin slices of human, animal, or plant tissue on slides for analysis. Your expertise will ensure the highest quality of sample preservation and analysis.
- Examine, fix, and process tissue for proper sample preservation
- Embed tissue with paraffin wax
- Cut tissue samples using a microtome or cryostat
- Mount tissue samples on slides
- Stain or dye samples to highlight abnormalities
- Recognize and address factors affecting procedures and quality results
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment and instruments
- Manage supplies and laboratory quality-control procedures
- Need 2 years experience in setting
- HT or HTL certification through ASCP
