Underwriting Assistant

Support Underwriters through account management and policy processing activities Process new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements in accordance with company guidelines Maintain organized electronic files and policy documentation Review and enter policy information into underwriting systems to ensure accuracy and completeness Issue policies, endorsements, and related documents in accordance with company procedures Provide exceptional customer service to clients Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries during the account life cycle Handle correspondence for additional account information Assist producers via email and phone calls Order loss runs requested by agents and insureds and send via fax, email, or mail Prepare and mail claims kits and marketing materials requested by agents and insureds Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 1 year of underwriting support, insurance operations, agency, brokerage, or carrier experience required Two or more years of insurance industry experience preferred Experience supporting Commercial Lines and/or Workers' Compensation business preferred, including exposure to Property, General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Workers' Compensation coverages Strong verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in underwriting support and insurance operations, with a strong focus on policy processing, account management, and customer service.
