What we're looking for:

You're the AEO expert on a portfolio of enterprise and scale-up clients. You figure out why a brand does or doesn't show up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and AI Overviews, build the strategy to change it, and see it through to shipped work and measurable movement.

The work isn't advisory from a distance. Your recommendations are specific enough that a client's dev or agency team can ship them next sprint. AEO isn't SEO 2.0, it's a new discipline, and the clients who hired us are looking at you to tell them what to do.

What you'll do:

Diagnose

• Run AEO audits: visibility baseline, prompt set design, and competitive benchmarking across LLMs and AI search surfaces.

• Read citation patterns, source types, and competitor behavior across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and AI Overviews, and turn that into a point of view.

• Audit the technical foundation yourself: schema, llms.txt, crawlability and AI crawler access, entity structure, and content structure.

Build the strategy

• Build AEO strategies that maximize visibility across LLMs and AI search surfaces, and deliver the audit, strategy deck, and roadmap that go with them.

• Make concrete technical recommendations, prioritized by impact and effort, so a client's dev or agency team can actually ship them.

• Recommend the content and earned-media moves that drive citations: which pages to create or restructure, and which third-party sources matter.

Deliver and measure

• Work alongside client teams through implementation and track what actually ships.

• Measure impact, separating real movement from LLM noise, and tie results back to the client's business objectives.

• Present to executives, marketers, and technical teams, often in the same room, without losing either audience.

Build the practice

• Run experiments as models and AI surfaces change, and share what you learn.

• Turn what you learn across accounts into frameworks the rest of the team runs.

• Partner with Customer Success on account health and renewals, with Product on what the platform should measure next, and with Business Development on pitches and case studies.

What you have:

• 4+ years in SEO, technical SEO, content strategy, or search marketing, agency or in-house, with real client-facing ownership of strategy.

• Hands-on technical depth: structured data, crawling and indexing, site architecture, and entity SEO. You can run the audit yourself, not just read one.

• Strategies you built that moved measurable results, and a clear explanation of what drove the movement.

• Comfort with data: large sets of prompts, citations, and rankings in spreadsheets or BI tools, and the judgment to find the signal.

• Fluency in both registers, technical (structured data, AI crawlers, entity SEO) and strategic (brand narrative, growth), and the judgment to know which one the moment calls for.

• Composure in high-stakes conversations, including the ones where you push back on a client's plan, and real curiosity about how AI systems retrieve, rank, and cite information.

Bonus / nice-to-haves:

• Direct AEO/GEO experience.

• SQL, Python, or scripting for analysis.

• Digital PR or earned-media experience.

• Startup background.

• Experience supporting accounts across multiple time zones.

The compensation range for this position is an OTE of $90,000-$110,000.
