National Salvage & Service has an opening for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our Birmingham, Alabama, facility. Experience working on heavy equipment and diesel trucks is required, must be skilled in hydraulics. Welding experience is preferred. At National, our focus is on quality, precision and doing things the right way. We are a leader and a rapidly growing company in the Demolition and Railroad industry.
DUTIES, TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform diagnostics and repair of machinery. Maintain and implement preventive maintenance. Plan and implement machine modifications and upgrades Complete daily paperwork.POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Mechanical knowledge on heavy equipment to make repairs (change hydraulic hose, grease and lube, safety walk around inspection). Must successfully pass background screen and pre-employment drug screen. Must be able to climb and lift 50 pounds.REQUIREMENTS
Experience working on trucks/trailers/heavy equipment. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions. BENEFITS of NATIONAL Competitive hourly pay.
