Schedule

Full-time second shift (11am-7:30pm or 1pm-9:30pm) with weekend rotation as needed.

Job Description

The Phlebotomist position is responsible for drawing blood from inpatient and outpatient settings to facilitate testing and assist physicians in making diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Send out all pathology and cytology samples, including bone marrow biopsies and fine needle aspirates.
• Review and input patient demographics for pathology and manage histology charges.
• Order tests and ensure they are prepared according to established standards.
• Check lab orders for accuracy, confirm with physicians, and make necessary adjustments.
• Perform venipuncture blood draws, heel sticks, and finger pokes while verifying patient information.
• Conduct drug screens and breathalyzer tests, and stay updated on changes and new protocols.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of related work experience preferred.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Valid and current driver's license preferred.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail are required.
