As a Product Manager, you’ll be working across complex spaces (Fintech, Healthcare, HR Tech - all with serious policy/regulatory environments). That will require you to have a keen intuition for customer needs, risk management, and commercialization. About the Role / What You’ll Work On The Contractor Pod’s mission is to build one unified product experience for every business that pays a contractor through the company, whether that contractor is based in the US or abroad, paid in dollars or a local currency, engaged for a single project or on an ongoing basis. These flows evolved separately over time and don’t yet feel like one product; closing that gap is what this pod exists to do. Contractor is also often the very first way a small business engages with the company, well before it’s ready for a full PEO, EOR, or global payroll relationship. That makes this pod’s work both a product bet and a growth bet: get the contractor experience right, and it becomes the front door to everything else the company offers. As a Senior Product Manager on this team, you’ll drive the roadmap for one or more contractor-focused initiatives, from unifying how contractors get paid regardless of currency or classification, to building bulk and recurring payment capabilities for businesses paying many contractors at once. You’ll scope and prioritize with research-backed case development and work through the complete product development lifecycle to successful delivery. A meaningful part of this role is navigating a genuinely complex regulatory landscape, since contractor classification and pay rules vary by country. You’ll need to build a sharp, data-backed point of view and partner closely with legal and international operations to make calls in areas where policy is still being defined. As a champion for your team’s focus and productivity, you’ll remove obstacles and develop team camaraderie to ensure maximum, high-quality output that aligns with the company’ business objectives. Though not yet actively teaching product management, you’ll operate independently within your scope and clearly articulate the reasoning behind your decisions to your peers and cross-functional stakeholders. You’ll own execution across the contractor roadmap, working alongside a parallel platform initiative that’s rebuilding the underlying data and identity foundations this product depends on, and making sure product decisions and platform work stay in lockstep rather than drifting apart. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with engineering and design to ship against a fast-moving roadmap, and with legal, international operations, and customer-facing teams to understand where the current experience breaks down and how to prioritize fixing it. Your Success ProfileResponsibilities Own and drive the product vision and roadmap for Contractor Conduct high-quality research to inform case development and product decisions. Demonstrate expertise in the PDLC and effectively tie insights to roadmap outcomes. Scope, prioritize, and execute projects to deliver measurable business impact while ensuring clarity on objectives, leverage, and accountability for outcomes. Partner deeply with Design and Engineering peers and organize and lead effective team processes and routines. Demonstrate a rich understanding of engineering concepts, concerns and tradeoffs, and effectively communicate them to manage stakeholder expectations around deadlines and scope. Drive camaraderie with your team while demonstrating effective collaboration with PMs across other pods/teams. Identify and take on opportunities beyond core responsibilities to support product strategy and drive impact.
