Manager, Labor Relations

The Hiring Manager is looking for a candidate with strong grievance management experience who can hit the ground running with minimal training. Practical labor relations experience is more important than educational background. Required Experience Grievance management from intake through resolution. Experience working directly with unions. Conducting Step 1 and Step 2 grievance meetings. Labor contract administration. Knowledge of union grievance procedures and processes. Preferred: Arbitration experience. Ability to work independently and manage complex employee relations matters. Key Reminder Grievance management experience is the top priority and a required qualification for this role.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant labor relations experience
• Proficiency with web-based databases and Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint

Additional Requirements:

• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
• This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time

Responsibilities:

• Advise internal clients, including management and human resources, regarding union contract compliance for bargaining units and/or assigned topics
• Advise internal clients regarding discipline of union employees, including just cause standards, as applicable, investigations, and rights to union representation
• Responsible for handling union grievances through arbitration phase as assigned
• Serves as the initial point of contact for union inquiries and concerns; triage issues, conduct research, provide responses, facilitate labor-management meetings
• Support and execute union contract administration
• Support collective bargaining, including preparation, research, contract implementation, and drafting as assigned
• Provide training to HR and managers on assigned topics
• Provide additional support to Labor & Employment department as needed
