The role oversees the dock supervisor as well as the shipping and receiving teams, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet production and customer requirements. Work with team members and leaders to monitor standards of work and process flow within the department to meet production and customer requirements Execute goals and objectives for the plant Primary Responsibilities Oversee daily shipping operations to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment Partner cross-functionally to develop strategies, processes, and tools required to enable efficient part and information flow Develop key performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and increased operational efficiency Own daily reporting on part status: locations, quantities, ETA, risks and opportunities Work with Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing to ensure parts are shipped Partner with Purchasing to monitor vendor performance: past due tracking and miss-shipping by vendor Develop plans and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and export controls (ITAR and EAR) and recordkeeping Main point of contact for outside service providers Manage, train, and schedule shipping staff Coordinate with carriers, freight providers, and logistics partners Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, safety standards, and company policies Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading and packing lists Monitor shipping costs and implement cost-saving initiatives Resolve shipping errors, delays, and customer delivery issues Track shipment status and maintain accurate shipping records Collaborate with warehouse, inventory, sales, and customer service teams Evaluate and improve shipping processes for efficiency and accuracy Provide shipping team leadership and strategic direction Collaborate with production control, quality, program, and account management to align logistics with production plans and customer delivery requirements Ensure shipment compliance with safety, regulatory standards, and internal procedures Streamline and integrate shipping and receiving teams to enhance communication and efficiency Implement and monitor key shipping performance metrics Coach and manage performance of the reporting team Delegate tasks, ensure clear communication and accountability Identify and address performance concerns and implement corrective actions as needed Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management and logistics or related field Experience: Manufacturing experience required Language skills: Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, reports; ability to communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and leadership Mathematical skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic and work with units of measure Reasoning ability: Ability to solve problems involving several variables in standardized situations Computer skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software Working Environment Working environment typically moderate noise level; safety glasses and steel-toed boots required Physical demands include standing/walking for extended periods (up to 6+ hours) Travel requirements: None Note: Consolidated Precision Products is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, pregnancy, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law.
