Duration: 6 Months (Onsite)

Pay range-$32/hr. - $41/hr.

Job Description


We are seeking a Senior Food Scientist / Flavor Analytical Scientist to support flavor research and analytical projects focused on biscuits and baked snacks. The role will involve developing analytical methods, operating SPME-GC, GC, GC-MS, and LC instrumentation, and interpreting flavor analysis data.


Key Responsibilities

• Set up and support SPME-GC equipment and establish validated analytical methods.
• Conduct GC, GC-MS, LC, and SPME analyses across various food matrices.
• Perform flavor extraction, identification, and quantification of aroma compounds.
• Develop capabilities for untargeted flavor analysis.
• Plan and execute laboratory experiments in accordance with GMP.
• Interpret analytical data and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
• Support flavor research teams by testing hypotheses and providing technical insights.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and instrument vendors.
• Ensure accurate QA data checking, documentation, and laboratory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food science, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with GC, GC-MS, LC, and/or SPME.
• Experience in analytical method development/validation and data interpretation.
• Knowledge of flavor chemistry, aroma compounds, and food matrices preferred.
• Strong laboratory, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in food, flavor, beverage, bakery, snacks, or consumer products is a plus.
