Staff Engineer, Healthcare Data

To support a growing health data platform, the full-time Staff Engineer, Healthcare Data will own the architecture and performance of large-scale data pipelines, ensuring standards-conformant FHIR delivery while leveraging AI tools for efficiency. Key responsibilities Own the end-to-end architecture of large-scale data pipelines, transforming raw data into clean, standards-conformant FHIR Diagnose and eliminate performance bottlenecks in distributed processing and set standards for data quality and terminology normalization Mentor engineers and establish frameworks that enhance team efficiency and uphold compliance with relevant regulations Required qualifications 8+ years of experience in data engineering, health IT, or healthcare interoperability with a proven track record in managing complex systems Demonstrated experience in building large-scale health-data pipelines and defining frameworks that accelerate team performance Proficiency in distributed data engineering with tools like Apache Spark and experience in ETL/ELT processes Familiarity with FHIR standards and compliance regulations such as HIPAA and the 21st Century Cures Act Experience using AI tools for coding and data processing, enhancing engineering efficiency without compromising quality
