Campus Recruiter (30 Hr / Week)

Position Overview The Campus Recruiter will be responsible for generating interest and cultivating a pool of candidates within their designated portfolio schools to apply to serve as paid AmeriCorps Volunteers. The role represents City Year’s mission, builds relationships with students, campus leaders, and stakeholders, and plays a critical role in creating pipelines of talent through recruitment strategies, supporting candidates through the application process, and fostering a commitment to national service. This position is located in Washington, DC; recruiters work on campus 2‑3 days per week and remotely on non‑campus days, with occasional travel to the City Year Washington DC Downtown office. A valid driver’s license is required. Compensation is $30 per hour. Responsibilities Generate interest and cultivate a pool of candidates within the designated portfolio schools. Develop and execute strategies to engage student groups and alumni from colleges and universities. Build and maintain relationships with campus partners, including career services, faculty, and student organizations. Deliver engaging presentations, host tabling events, and participate in career fairs. Build and manage a pipeline of prospective candidates, nurturing interest in City Year and the AmeriCorps Volunteer role. Conduct 1:1 informational meetings and respond to candidate inquiries to provide personalized support. Identify high‑potential candidates and offer tailored coaching to guide them through the application and interview process. Serve as a champion of inclusion, ensuring recruitment processes offer opportunities for all. Guide candidates through the application process, communicating timelines, expectations, and requirements. Prepare candidates for interviews with mock interviews and best practice coaching. Engage in candidate interviews year‑round to refine the interview process. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth transition of selected candidates. Support recruitment campaigns, events, and initiatives to amplify City Year’s reach. Provide regular updates to the Recruitment Director and site teams on recruitment progress, challenges, and insights. Track and analyze recruitment metrics to assess outreach effectiveness and identify improvement areas. Maintain accurate candidate records in CRM and applicant tracking systems. Provide feedback on recruitment strategies to enhance candidate experience and conversion rates. Qualifications Experience in recruitment, admissions, or program coordination, preferably in education, nonprofit, or mission‑driven environments. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with students, campus partners, community leaders, and other stakeholders. Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of delivering compelling messages in group and individual settings. Proficiency in managing multiple priorities and projects, meeting deadlines with attention to detail. Familiarity with CRM systems, applicant tracking systems, or related tools. Flexibility to travel within the designated portfolio as needed. Passion for national service and commitment to fostering a strong AmeriCorps cohort. Benefits This role is not eligible for City Year’s benefit packages and is contingent upon completion of satisfactory background checks, verification of eligibility to work in the United States, and any other required documentation.
