L2 Network Engineer

These are on-site positions that may have some level of opportunity for remote office, but it will be non-routine and if happens will commence only after the 90-day contract (to perm) duration. Any candidates that "require" remote-office should not apply. Visa- USC

The criteria has changed with the positions being pursued. Seeking L2 Network Engineers for Dallas (Coppell) TX and Blue Bell PA office locations for on-site positions.

Job Description L2/3 capability as related to network design/architecture covering data, voice and storage to support strategy and business requirements for connectivity, capacity, security, resilience, recovery, and access. This may incorporate all aspects of the communications infrastructure, internal and external, mobile, public, private, cloud, Intranet and data centers.

• Cisco Nexus 9000 (ACI leaf/spine & standalone), Nexus 7000 (VDC), and Nexus 5000 switches.
• Cisco ASR multigigabit routers.
• Advanced IP traffic engineering via OSPF, BGP & EIGRP routing.
• Cisco ASA (for NAC-enabled remote-access VPN), Client, and AnyConnect VPN.
• Cisco Enterprise Wireless Controllers with 900+ wireless-access-points.
• Palo Alto Firewalls + Panorama, and FortiNet FortiGate Firewalls + FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer
• Site-to-Site VPN via FortiNet FortiGate SDWAN and Palo Alto FW.
• FortiNet FortiNAC.
• Vivai Solutions Observer Apex, GigaStor, OMS and Analyzer.
• Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Voice Mail, UCCX, ExpressWay and QoS.
• Cloud exchange peering with Amazon Web Services and Azure cloud computing platforms.
• NetScaler Load Balancers & Infoblox centralized DHCP.

Responsibilities

• L2/3 responsibility for network strategy, architecture, implementation and steady-state support.
• Produces network design policies addressing connectivity, capacity, interfacing, security, resilience, recovery, access, and remote access.
• Produces and maintains specifications, topologies, configuration and design documentation.
• Specifies user/system interfaces, including validation and error correction procedures, processing rules, access, security and audit controls.
• Assesses associated risks; specifies recovery routines and contingency procedures.
• Function as subject matter expert for at least one area of data and voice infrastructure.

Position Requirements

• Formal Education & Certification
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and 5 years related work experience or any equivalent combination.
• Must possess current certifications in networking.
• Certifications in Palo Alto, FortiGate, Citrix NetScaler and related security technologies preferred.
• L2 Knowledge and Experience
• Traffic-engineering experience with BGP.
• Experience with AWS/Azure cloud services.
• Experience with Cisco Multi-Site ACI.
• Experience with Palo Alto FWs & Panorama and/or FortiNet FortiGate FWs & FortiManager /FortiAnalyzer.
• Experience with enterprise wireless technology.
• Must be very comfortable with technical elements of network security and design, to include IPSec VPN (S2S, RA, DMVPN & B2B) TCP/IP, firewalls, IPS/IDS, VoIP, load balancers, routers and switches.
• Knowledgeable in Cisco Unified Communications Manager and UCCX a plus.
