Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Salt Lake City, Utah.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/14/2026\n Duration: 12 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 14, 2026\n Length: 12 weeks\n Openings: 2\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring at least 2 years of recent L&D experience and AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.Details\n \n Labor & Delivery unit with 15 labor rooms, a 3-bed triage bay, and 2 ORs\n 45-person staff including RNs, charge nurses, and PCT/Scrub Techs\n Patient ratios of 1:1 for laboring patients and 1:2 or 1:3 for early labor, antepartum, and triage patients\n Uses electronic fetal monitors, telemetry fetal monitoring, Monica Novii wireless fetal monitoring, Alaris IV pumps, Belmont rapid infusers, Ranger blood/fluid warming systems, vein finder device, and Hugs infant security system\n Epic EMR used\n Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM over a 12-week assignment\n Rotating weekends required (4 weekend shifts per month)\n Floating to Postpartum unit as needed\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (Utah or Compact) required\n Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience in an acute care hospital setting\n Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN preferred)\n Experience circulating Cesarean sections required\n Experience managing high-risk OB patients and obstetric emergencies required\n Epic EMR experience required\n Preferred experience with operative vaginal deliveries (vacuum/forceps), antepartum care, external cephalic versions, cerclages, and NICU or newborn stabilization\n Preferred experience with high-risk obstetrics, magnesium sulfate administration, insulin drips, multiple gestation pregnancies, preeclampsia management, shoulder dystocia, and postpartum hemorrhage management\n No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months\n Additional Information\n \n Independently manage laboring patients, high-risk pregnancies, induction and augmentation of labor, fetal monitoring, vaginal deliveries, and immediate postpartum care\n Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, NICU, and postpartum teams\n Support unit procedures including vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, operative vaginal deliveries, external cephalic versions, cerclage placement/removal, iron infusions, and newborn stabilization\n Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills required in a fast-paced environment\n Calm and responsive demeanor during obstetric emergencies expected\n Hospital-laundered scrubs provided each shift\n Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-747490.
