Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients in a fast-paced hospital setting. Oversees patient assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized care plans while ensuring clinical standards and safety protocols are met.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care by assessing needs, developing care plans, and implementing interventions.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of nursing staff and assist in delegating tasks effectively.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and recovery processes.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in a medical-surgical unit.
• BLS certification from an approved vendor; ACLS certification required.
• EPIC electronic health record system experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong communication skills.
• Prior experience with PALS preferred but optional; must be obtained if required during contract extension.
