Job Title:Mobile TechnicianDepartment:MaintenanceCountry:United States of AmericaState/Province:CaliforniaCity:South GateFull/Part Time:Full timeJob Summary:Under close supervision, this position is responsible for performing basic services of our tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power equipment at a customer site or rail yard using a mobile service truck. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.Job Description:Key Responsibilities:With guidance, perform basic preventive maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake adjustments/services/replacements, electrical diagnostics, basic structural repairs on trailer chassis, sub-frames, etc.Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yardOperate assigned service truck in a professional manner and according to company requirements; keep unit clean and well stockedAccurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established proceduresProperly document damage to company equipment to allow subrogation of repair costsUnderstand and demonstrate the basic use of a cutting torch and welding equipment; perform minor repairs on chassis, frames, brackets, etc.Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water tightPerform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections under supervision of a certified technician as requiredShift Schedule: Shifts may vary based upon location and business needs.In addition to the company benefits listed below, the maintenance team will also have access to:Career growth opportunitiesCompany-provided uniforms and annual boot programSafety culture with bonus incentivesTechnicians can gain new skills and grow their opportunities through J.B. Hunt's Technician Career Advancement (TCA) programQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbsDemonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiencesPossess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelinesWillingness to work outdoors in the elementsAble to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if neededPreferred Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent with up to 1 year of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalentAt least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakesWelding certificationForklift certification and experienceEPA section 608 certification and refrigeration licenseAbility to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediumsAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamProficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectivelyAbility to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)The expected starting pay range for this position is between $28.92 - $38.52 .Don’t let distance keep you from becoming a part of our team!
