Meat/Seafood Manager

Overview Meat & Seafood Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market, responsible for the sales and operation of the Meat & Seafood Department. Responsibilities Plan, order, and prepare cutting lists. Process meat according to department goals and standards to maximize sales and gross profit. Ensure correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise and displays. Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one‑on‑one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi‑annual performance review process. Regularly attend and participate in in‑store meetings. Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager. Confidently exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns. Take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance to include coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination. Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels. Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members. Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience customers will receive. Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed. Qualifications At least 18 years of age, basic knowledge of math, weights and measures. Minimum of 2 years of meat cutting experience in the grocery or restaurant industry, including leadership experience. Ability to stand up to 4 hours continuously, total of 8 hours per shift, walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours. Work inside a temperature‑controlled area. Good vision required for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine and tenderizer. Ability to lift/carry products horizontally/vertically between 25 to 90 lbs., up to 10 feet for 20 hours. Use pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs., requiring a force of up to 85 lbs., up to 100 feet for up to 5 hours. Horizontally move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs., with a force of up to 25 lbs., up to 50 feet for up to 10 hours. Move tables weighing up to 70 lbs., requiring a force greater than 35 lbs., up to 2 feet for up to 1 hour. Work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends and holidays. Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers and financial goals. Outgoing, friendly behavior and a positive attitude toward Team Members and customers.
