Position Summary The Regional Major Gifts Officer is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals to secure major gifts ($10,000+) in support of Kids Alive International's mission and strategic priorities. This role plays a crucial part in building and maintaining relationships with donors capable of making significant contributions. The officer will start with a provided portfolio of current donors but must actively focus on new donor acquisition, prospect identification, and portfolio growth to bring in new revenue while effectively stewarding existing relationships. Performance will be measured by revenue generated and sustained, consistent with key performance indicators, including metrics for donor meetings, solicitations, events, and inflows. Essential Duties Portfolio Management Manage an assigned portfolio of current and prospective major donors, ensuring a deep understanding of each donor's interests, motivations, and giving capacity. Actively grow the portfolio through aggressive prospecting, referrals from existing donors, and strategic research to identify and incorporate new high‑net‑worth individuals. Regularly assess and update donor profiles, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date information. Ensure timely entry of all relevant donor interactions (phone calls, emails, meetings, events) into the CRM system. Cultivation and Solicitation Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors for major gifts, with a strong emphasis on acquiring new donors to expand the organization's funding base. Coordinate community gatherings in collaboration with donors and the development team, including donor appreciation events, to introduce prospects and foster engagement. Conduct a high volume of qualified donor/prospect meetings (in-person, virtual, or video) weekly, accounting for personal time off to meet quarterly targets. Achieve documented solicitations for active donors, prioritizing face‑to‑face or virtual methods where appropriate, with alternatives noted in records. Re‑engage lapsed donors through targeted outreach to reactivate contributions. Stewardship Ensure proper acknowledgment and recognition of major donors, including personalized thank‑you letters and inclusion in relevant publications. Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement stewardship plans that engage donors and demonstrate the impact of their contributions. Prospect Research Partner with research staff to identify and evaluate potential high‑net‑worth donors, expanding the portfolio and strengthening fundraising efforts. Provide strategic recommendations on adding new prospects or removing others based on giving capacity and affinity. Leverage relationships with existing donors to secure referrals for new prospects.
