Senior/Financial Advisor (Foster City)

The Senior or Financial Advisor (S/FA) serves as the primary relationship owner for high-net-worth clients, delivering comprehensive financial planning and investment guidance. SFAs lead client meetings, develop planning strategies, and coordinate with portfolio management, tax professionals, and estate attorneys to deliver integrated advice.

Advisors maintain a focused client base (typically fewer than 100 households) and manage an established book of client relationships while contributing to organic growth through client referrals, COI relationships, and partnership with the firm’s Business Development team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary advisor and trusted partner to high-net-worth client families (Financial Advisors typically work with clients between $1-5M in AUM, and Senior Financial Advisors typically $5M+ in AUM)
• Deliver comprehensive financial planning across investments, tax, equity compensation, estate planning, and retirement strategies
• Lead client meetings and oversee preparation and follow-through with support from Associate Financial Advisors
• Collaborate with the Portfolio Management team to implement investment strategies aligned with client goals
• Drive organic growth through client referrals, COI relationships, and partnership with the Business Development team
• Mentor and develop Associate Financial Advisors to ensure high-quality client service

Qualifications

• 3 years (for Financial Advisors) and 5+ years (for Senior Advisors) of client-facing advisory experience in wealth management
• CFP Certified (or 7 years of advisory services in a lead-advisor role, with comprehensive financial planning and business development experience; must pass the CFP within 2 years of hire)
• Experience serving high-net-worth clients and delivering comprehensive financial planning
• Strong relationship management and communication skills
• Ability to develop new client relationships and partner with COIs
• Experience with financial planning software and CRM

Compensation

• Total compensation includes base, bonus, and incentive comp:
  • Base salary:
    • Financial Advisors $115-150K
    • Senior Financial Advisors: $150-225K
  • Performance-based bonus (on-target at 20% of base, with additional upside for exceeding metrics, up to 30% of base salary)
  • Incentives tied to new assets, referrals, and business development participation (unlimited upside)
