Police Officer - CERTIFIED ONLY

Position Overview Under supervision, performs a variety of duties to an assigned area of responsibility such as identifying and apprehending criminal violators; controls and maintains public order and safety; performs related duties as required. Required Qualifications Must possess the following: Successful completion of a TCOLE Basic Course in Applied Police Science (Police Academy). Passing score on the TCOLE Peace Officer licensing exam. Passing score on physical assessment as outlined by the City of Rowlett standards. Physical assessment requirements: 18 push-ups, 25 sit-ups and a 1.5-mile run in 16 minutes or less, and a 300‑meter run in 77 seconds or less. Valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License with a good driving record and report all traffic citations within two working days. Vision 20/20, correctable to 20/20. Pass background investigation, psychological exam (if required by TCOLE), oral interview by Interviewing Board, physical exam, and physical assessment. Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends.
