Sous Chef

South Village Hospitality is seeking a passionate, organized, and driven Sous Chef with a strong Italian cuisine background to join our growing culinary leadership team across the Ainslie brands and affiliated venues.
We are a multi-concept hospitality group specializing in high-volume dining, private events, nightlife, brunch, handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza, and elevated hospitality experiences throughout New York City.
This is an opportunity for a strong kitchen leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys building teams, and takes pride in running clean, organized, high-performing kitchens.
Responsibilities- Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations and service execution
- Lead and motivate line cooks, prep cooks, and kitchen staff
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
- Execute and uphold Italian culinary techniques and standards
- Support scheduling, inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
- Ensure DOH compliance, sanitation, and kitchen organization
- Work closely with ownership, beverage and culinary leadership on systems and growth initiatives
- Help execute large-scale private events, brunches, and high-volume services
- 2+ years experience as a Sous Chef in NYC hospitality
- Strong Italian cuisine background required
- Experience with pasta production, wood-fired cooking, and high-volume Italian kitchens preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure
