We partner with over 2,000 LGBTQQ+ youth annually to build community, nurture healing, and foster long‑term stability through education, career development, wellness, and leadership programs. LYRIC’s vision is rooted in equity, liberation, and joy for LGBTQ Youth . With a multimillion‑dollar annual budget and a multigenerational, multicultural staff team, LYRIC continues to create affirming spaces that center youth voice, safety, and power. About This Role We are hiring a Schools Program Manager to lead LYRIC’s school‑based programming across San Francisco middle schools and high schools. This role is responsible for strengthening affirming school communities for LGBTQQ+ youth through leadership development, identity‑based support, youth organizing, and community‑building programming. The Schools Program Manager will supervise a team of youth development staff who facilitate programming both on school campuses and at LYRIC’s Purple House. You will work closely with school district leaders, school site staff, and community partners to ensure youth have access to culturally responsive support, connection, and opportunities for growth. This role is ideal for a collaborative leader who understands the intersection of youth development, educational equity, and LGBTQQ+ advocacy—and who can translate that vision into impactful programming, strong partnerships, and meaningful outcomes for young people. What You’ll Do – Program Leadership & Management Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of LYRIC’s school‑based programming in alignment with organizational goals and youth needs. Develop annual work plans, program goals, and strategies that support contract deliverables and long‑term impact. Ensure compliance with program contracts, reporting requirements, data collection systems, and evaluation processes. Provide direct support and coverage for frontline youth programs as needed. Identify emerging trends and needs impacting LGBTQQ+ youth in schools and integrate responsive practices into programming. Present program outcomes, findings, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. Partner with SFUSD district staff and school site staff at middle schools and high schools. Supervision & Team Development Supervise and support a team of 3 coordinators facilitating youth programming in schools and at LYRIC. Provide reflective supervision, strengths‑based coaching, and clear accountability systems. Support staff in setting and achieving professional development goals. Maintain compliance with LYRIC personnel policies and union agreements related to hiring, performance management, and staff support. Foster a collaborative team culture rooted in equity, communication, and care. Partnership & Community Engagement Serve as a key liaison with school districts, school administrators, educators, and youth‑serving partners. Strengthen relationships with school communities to increase support and visibility for LGBTQQ+ youth. Collab with community‑based organizations and stakeholders to build pathways to additional services and opportunities for youth. Represent LYRIC in community spaces, coalitions, and cross‑sector conversations related to youth wellbeing and educational equity. Ensure youth voice and lived experience remain central to partnership and advocacy efforts. Program Operations & Fiscal Oversight Develop and manage program budgets in partnership with LYRIC leadership and finance staff. Monitor budget‑to‑actual spending and ensure responsible fiscal stewardship throughout the year. Track staff time allocations and ensure alignment between program goals, funding requirements, and actual work performed. Ensure timely completion of timesheets, reimbursements, financial documentation, and other operational processes. Who You Are A seasoned youth development professional with at least 3 years of program management experience. An experienced supervisor who values coaching, accountability, and collaborative leadership. Knowledgeable about youth development frameworks, youth‑adult partnership models, harm reduction, positive sexuality, and HIV/STI prevention. Experienced working with LGBTQQ+ youth and communities historically impacted by systemic inequities, including youth of color, transgender youth, immigrant youth, youth with disabilities, system‑involved youth, and youth experiencing housing instability. A strong relationship builder who has worked directly with school districts, school sites, and youth‑serving organizations. Organized and detail‑oriented, with experience managing program data, reporting, and compliance processes. Comfortable using technology platforms including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Canva, and data management systems. Someone who thrives in multiracial, multicultural, multi‑gendered, and intergenerational environments. Compensation & Benefits Annual Salary: $76,550 (non‑negotiable under LYRIC’s equity‑based compensation model with increase on anniversary date for up to 5 years) Benefits Include
