Position Summary:

The Assistant Golf Professional supports the daily operations of the Golf Department and contributes to delivering a high-quality member and guest experience in alignment with the Vineyards SHINE Service Standards. This role includes golf shop operations, tournament support, instruction, and active engagement with members both in the golf shop and on the course.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Shoe Care & Footwear Maintenance Services:

• Golf Shoe Cleaning: Clean, polish, condition, and sanitize members’ and guests’ leather, synthetic, and fabric golf shoes following play or prior to rounds.
• Spike Replacement: Inspect golf shoe soles for wear; replace soft spikes, metal cleat adapters, and hardware efficiently using appropriate specialized tools.
• Locker Storage & Organization: Retrieve, clean, and return footwear directly to members' assigned lockers in a timely, organized manner.
• Leather & Material Care: Apply proper leather conditioners, waterproofing treatments, and stain removers according to specific shoe manufacturer standards.

Facility Care & Environmental Maintenance:

• Maintain flawless cleanliness and presentation throughout the locker room, lounge areas, vanity stations, restrooms, and shower facilities.
• Regularly restock high-end personal care amenities, fresh towels, grooming supplies, and paper goods.
• Ensure lounge seating, card tables, television areas, and dressing quarters remain uncluttered, polished, and inviting at all times.
• Perform routine deep cleaning tasks, monitor linen inventories, and promptly route used towels to laundry services.
• Address spills, moisture, or facility upkeep immediately to uphold strict luxury hospitality and safety standards.

Member Engagement & Hospitality:

• Warmly greet members and guests by name upon entry, establishing a welcoming, polished ambiance.
• Assist members with locker assignments, shoe storage queries, guest accommodations, and day-use locker requests.
• Provide tailored food and beverage service within the locker room lounge if applicable, coordinating with culinary staff for refreshment requests.
• Maintain complete confidentiality regarding member conversations, preferences, and club matters.

Work Environment and Schedule Requirements:

• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Occasional extended hours may be required, including assisting with closing operations and remaining on-site until play is completed when necessary.
• Work is performed in both indoor (golf shop) and outdoor environments.

Qualifications:

• 1–2+ years of luxury hospitality, private club, resort, or high-end customer service experience preferred.
• Prior experience or willingness to learn proper leather care, shoe polishing techniques, and golf spike replacement tools.
• Exceptional verbal communication, active listening skills, and a professional, customer-focused demeanor.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on member engagement.
• Ability to deliver high-level customer service in a hospitality-driven environment.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced setting.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
