Property Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Property Accountant to support accounting operations for a real estate portfolio. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage financial reporting activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a timely month-end close process. The role requires strong knowledge of property accounting principles, accrual-based accounting, and hands-on experience working within Yardi Software.Responsibilities:• Oversee daily accounting activity for assigned properties, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and aligned with reporting deadlines.• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.• Lead month-end close tasks for the property portfolio, including analysis of balances, accruals, and correcting entries as needed.• Apply accrual accounting standards to record revenue, expenses, and other financial transactions in the appropriate reporting periods.• Generate and analyze property-level financial statements and related reports for internal stakeholders and management review.• Use Yardi Software to process accounting transactions, maintain property records, and support routine financial reporting requirements.• Investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accuracy in financial data.• Assist with audits, documentation requests, and special accounting projects related to property financial operations.
