Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack Java - Credit Risk

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering, with 8+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced skills in Java, Spring Boot, JPA, and REST
• Strong experience writing high-quality code with comprehensive automated unit test coverage using tools such as JUnit and Mockito
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database query languages
• Demonstrated ability to lead the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and establish standards for validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; ability to coach engineers in safe, compliant adoption
• Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• In-depth knowledge of financial services and related IT systems
• Practical cloud-native experience
• Preferred: Experience with front-end technologies such as ReactJS or AngularJS
• Preferred: Experience with cloud technologies, including AWS
• Preferred: Automation experience

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, using independent thinking to address technical challenges
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Lead team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation standards and encourage reuse of effective approaches
• Use Software Development Life Cycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation
• Identify opportunities to prevent or automate remediation of recurring issues and improve application and system stability
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams, assessing architectural designs, technical capabilities, and suitability for existing systems and information architecture
• Contribute as a core technical member of an agile team in Credit Risk Technology, delivering technology solutions that support the firms business objectives
