Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Powertrain Assembly)

The Industrial Strategy (IS) Assembly Systems Process Manager will lead projects in design and cost estimation of Assembly systems for Propulsion Systems, including both Engines, Transmissions, e-Drives, and e-Motors as indicated by requirements in the Long Range Plan. This will include Automation / facilities and all other equipment for new model launches in North America, Canada, and Mexico. The role of this Manager will be to apply Process Standards developed by the Underbody Process Engineering (UPE) group to develop proposals for new product introductions, including process design, layout, and cost estimations (Capital, Tooling, and Expense).Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:The IS Assembly Manager will be responsible for the application of UPE standards and specifications focused on: Developing Process Cost EstimatesDeveloping Initial Labor/Manpower EstimatesDeveloping Concept Layouts and RepresentationsPerforming Product Feasibility AnalysesIdentifying DTM Opportunities to improve key KPI’s (Cost, Quality, and Throughput)Preparation of process proposal documents for handoff to UPE team for execution after governance of programBasic Qualifications:15 years of automotive project experience with emphasis on Assembly systems development (either Engine or Transmission)Bachelor's degreeExperience leading teams in development of new product/process introduction proposals and cost estimationExperience directly managing process engineering development and launch activitiesExperience in execution of projects for new product/processes including RFQ/Sourcing/Commissioning/LaunchExperience managing the iron triangle (Cost, Scope, and Timing) on Propulsion programsStrong computer skills - particularly in Excel, PowerPointExcellent communication skills - both orally and in writtenAbility to communicate with Executive/Senior ManagementSuccessful candidate must have the ability to work as part of a teamMust be able to travel 10-20% as required to visit Propulsion Division plants and SuppliersPreferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical preferred, Electrical and/or Industrial acceptable5 years of industrial project management experienceFamiliarity with 3D Design and Teamcenter VisualizationFamiliarity with requirement equipment and process types including Automation/Conveyance/Controls/Pressing/TorqueExperience working with Bargaining Unit EmployeesBrand: FCA GroupJob ID: 2020410Employment Type: Full-timeJob Area: ManufacturingPosted Date: 28/07/2026
