Location & Employment Thomasville, NC | Full Time M-F 8am-4:30pm Department Cardiology Clinic About the Role As an Echocardiographer at Novant Health, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality cardiac imaging services. Your expertise will contribute to accurate diagnoses and exceptional patient care. Responsibilities Perform a variety of echocardiographic procedures, including transthoracic and stress echocardiograms. Analyze and interpret hemodynamic data to assist in clinical decision‑making. Collaborate closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain and operate echocardiography equipment, ensuring optimal functionality. Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards in all procedures. Qualifications Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree in a related field preferred. Graduate of a formal Cardiovascular Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs preferred. Two years of echocardiography experience preferred. Certifications Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS or RCS) required. New graduates must obtain registry within six months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Skills & Abilities Proficiency in performing and interpreting echocardiographic studies. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. What We're Looking For Education: High School or GED required; 2‑Year/Associate Degree required. Certification Program in lieu of an Associate Degree accepted; graduate of a formal cardiovascular program preferred. Experience: Two years of echocardiography experience preferred. Licensure/Certification: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS or RCS) required; new graduate allowed 6 months to obtain registry. Additional Skills: Ability to complete department‑specific skills validation and competency testing, modify care according to patient age, interpret information to identify patient needs, and communicate findings to nursing staff, physicians, and other department staff.
