Quality Engineering Manager

An established and growing organization is expanding its Quality Engineering function to strengthen functional testing across enterprise systems and ensure consistent testing standards across all platforms. If you enjoy working across multiple systems, collaborating closely with engineering teams, and improving QA practices organization-wide, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

This is a hybrid/remote position working 1-2 days on-site/week in Dallas.

COMP : $110K-$140K + Bonus depending on candidate's experience, etc.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Execute functional testing for non-web systems, including:
  • Enterprise and internal business applications
  • APIs and system integrations
  • Service-to-service workflows and data flows
• Design, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and exploratory testing, particularly for systems that do not yet have formal QA coverage.
• Help coordinate functional testing standards and release readiness for the web platform while partnering with teams responsible for web testing.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) readiness by:
  • Preparing and organizing test cases
  • Validating test environments and data
  • Facilitating smooth handoffs to business stakeholders for validation
• Work closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and identify quality risks early in the development process.
• Assist with defect triage, documentation, prioritization, and root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to evolving QA practices for:
  • API and integration testing
  • Data-driven & AI-enabled workflows, including behavioral regression and input variability testing

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field of study
• 4+ years of experience in QA or software testing roles
• Strong experience performing functional testing for enterprise or internal business applications
• Working knowledge of:
  • API testing concepts, including REST services, integrations, and contracts
  • Test case design, execution, and defect tracking
• Ability to work across multiple systems and cross-functional teams simultaneously

PREFERRED:

• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar
• Exposure to test automation or scripting
• Familiarity with CI/CD environments and modern delivery practices
• Experience testing data-heavy or AI-enabled systems
• Experience working within organizations that use embedded testers and centralized QA governance
• Familiarity with one or more of the following technologies:
  • PHP
  • SQL and relational databases
  • .NET-based applications
  • Python-based systems or services
