Assistant General Counsel Chase Travel Group Legal - Vice President
JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Job Description
Take a high-impact legal seat at the intersection of business and premium leisure travel, strategic digital and e-commerce, and a globally scaled financial institution. You’ll join Chase Travel Group Legal and serve as embedded counsel to Chase Travel Corporate Solutions (CTCS), advising business leaders on both strategic transactions and the day-to-day decisions that keep a complex B2B travel business moving – while also supporting broader Chase Travel Group regulatory and product counsel matters. You’ll partner with a business that now ranks No. 6 on Travel Weekly’s 2026 Power List and No. 3 among U.S. consumer leisure travel providers. If you’re energized by being “at the table” early – spotting issues, structuring solutions, and enabling responsible growth – this role offers the pace, visibility, and breadth of true line-of-business counsel.
As a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel in Chase Travel Group Legal, you will support Chase Travel Corporate Solutions (CTCS), Chase Travel Group’s B2B vertical delivering end-to-end programs for corporate and business clients’ travel, expense, customer loyalty, and event needs. You will serve as an embedded line-of-business counsel for CTCS, providing both transactional support and day-to-day business counsel in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. You will partner primarily with CTCS business leaders across (i) Consulting Services, offering thorough global analysis and evaluation, strategy and consultation, automated processes, new technology, and global change management to help clients reach their full corporate and business travel program potential, (ii) Partner Loyalty Solutions, building and operating travel commerce platforms designed to help clients reward customers and drive loyalty, and (iii) Entertainment Travel, supporting specialized planning needs for music tours, TV & film productions, and related stakeholders. In addition, you will support broader Chase Travel Group regulatory and product counsel, collaborating with the senior attorney serving as the chief regulatory and product counsel for Chase Travel Group.
The Legal Department at JPMorgan Chase & Co. manages legal and other risks, advises on products and services, interprets laws and regulations that impact the firm, and advises the firm on other matters. Our global team is made up of about 2,000 lawyers and legal professionals with a reputation as thought leaders who deliver best-in-class services. As trusted advisors, we help the firm’s clients while also safeguarding the integrity of the firm. We are committed to a culture of inclusivity and belonging, where people can grow and succeed throughout their careers while working for a first-in-class financial institution doing cutting-edge work. If these values resonate with you, we would like to hear from you.
Job responsibilities
Serve as day-to-day legal counsel to CTCS stakeholders, providing strategic, commercially pragmatic, and transparent advice on legal considerations that arise in the ordinary course and in connection with transactions.
Lead drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements supporting CTCS sub-verticals, including client services agreements.
Advise on and interpret legal and regulatory issues impacting CTCS offerings, focusing on compliance with state, federal, and international laws and regulations governing the sale of travel.
Provide ongoing day-to-day support and assistance to business partners, other legal teams, and functional partners on contract interpretation and implementation questions.
Provide early-stage “seat at the table” legal support, including issue-spotting, researching, and appropriately escalating risks and concerns that may exist in connection with CTCS transactions and day-to-day advisory matters, including antitrust, bank regulatory, UDAP/UDAAP, data, privacy, and security considerations.
Assess legislative changes and potential impacts to business operations, and provide timely updates to impacted stakeholders.
Support broader Chase Travel Group product counsel and regulatory matters, including advising on product initiatives central to the business’s sales and revenue goals, identifying regulations and rules impacting travel services and the sale of travel, and coordinating with legal and cross-functional partners to drive consistent, well-governed outcomes.
Collaborate with functional partners to develop strategies to support regulatory compliance.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- At least 5 years post-admission experience in a law firm or in-house, and licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state in which the position is based (or otherwise in compliance with that state’s in-house counsel registration rules).
- On-point transactional experience with strong technical drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and to be appropriately outspoken when necessary, while maintaining strong judgment and constructive working relationships.
- Entrepreneurial, business-minded, and a creative problem solver.
- Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment, pivot between priorities, and persevere to completion.
- Ability to see past the immediate question, understand the wider strategy, and think tactically to achieve the best result for all parties.
- Some travel, as required, to support business needs.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience serving as embedded, primary counsel to a line of business, providing day-to-day legal guidance in addition to leading transactions.
- Familiarity with travel management, business travel, entertainment travel, and online travel platform transactions, including structuring and negotiating commercial terms for technology-enabled services.
- Experience advising on B2B client engagements (including consulting-style services) and client-facing contracting models.
- Familiarity with online booking, duty of care, and event management tools.
- Experience advising on product lifecycle legal issues – from early-stage product design and go-to-market through ongoing enhancements – translating regulatory and risk considerations into clear, practical guidance for business and cross-functional partners.
- Familiarity with consumer protection and travel-related regulations and rules, including Seller of Travel and other licensing requirements, and comfort translating regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders on issue-spotting and risk management, including data, privacy, and security considerations in commercial arrangements.
All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment.
