The work schedule consists of four 12-hour shifts per week, during the day. Nurse-to-patient ratios average 1:5 during the day and 1:6 during the night. Weekend ratios are similar, averaging 1:5. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in the relevant specialty. First-time travelers will be accepted for this position. Every other weekend coverage is required. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) are mandatory. Candidates should be able to float within scope to meet facility needs. Interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias are essential skills for this role. Experience with isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The ability to monitor telemetry and provide non-invasive airway management is also important. Candidates will be expected to care for patients with varying diagnoses, including pulmonary hypertension. Interdisciplinary support will be available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.
