Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

A Skilled Nursing Facility in Brooklyn, NY is looking to hire an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Duties

• Assist the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) with management responsibilities and maintaining quality of care.

• Conduct weekly wound and skin rounds.

• Support regulatory compliance and ensure effective communication across all levels of nursing staff.

• Address the nursing and medical needs of residents.

• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation.

• Coordinate and direct planning of nursing services.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and clinical practice.

• Ensure accurate and timely completion of medical records.

• Assist with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new nursing staff.

• Oversee daily staffing processes.

• Support infection prevention and control initiatives.

• Maintain flexibility in scheduling to address operational and resident care needs.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a long-term care setting.

• At least 2 years of management experience preferred.

• Staff education experience preferred.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.

• Flexible schedule availability.
