Overview Surgical Tech CVOR 8k Bonus - (260000F7). Description: Certified Surgical Technologist with an $8,000 sign-on bonus. Orientation schedule: Monday–Friday, 06:15–14:45 for up to 12 weeks. Taking call is required. Facility: Clements University Hospital. Responsibilities / Duties Assist the Registered Nurse Circulator by organizing, prioritizing tasks, and preparing the operating room for each surgical procedure and patient arrival, maintaining clear communication with the Circulator regarding procedure and patient status. Provide perioperative patient care by selecting, inspecting, and opening surgical supplies and equipment according to patient age and surgeon preference. Apply aseptic and sterile technique to maintain a sterile field; ensure equipment and supplies are prepared and available for the procedure. Promote patient safety by checking equipment for proper function prior to procedures. Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts with the Circulator at defined intervals. Pass instruments and anticipate the surgeon's needs during procedures. Perform surgical hand scrubs and assist with gowns and gloves for self and others. Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization and assist with operating room turnover. Lead, direct, and coordinate perioperative care tasks, serving as a technical specialist or resource for perioperative staff. Complete written clinical performance evaluations in a timely manner and organize perioperative tasks based on identified needs, demonstrating competency and independence. Resolve minor issues related to counts, patient care, equipment, supplies, and environment; support a collaborative team environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education : High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience : 2 years of experience with knowledge of eight to ten surgical specialties; able to operate basic/standard operating room equipment. Licenses and Certifications : CST – completion of an appropriate surgical technology program; or prior practice as a surgical technologist in a health care facility before September 1, 2009; BLS – Basic Life Support as approved by AHA or ARC.
