Phlebotomist

Position Description Draws blood from patients in correctional hospital facility for analysis or other medical purposes. Major/Essential Functions Possess skills and knowledge in obtaining blood from venous and capillary sites. Uses correct procedures to accurately identify patients and specimen. Completes paperwork and maintains records as needed. Prepare biological specimens for analysis. Assists in maintaining proper level of supplies. Be well organized and able to synchronize duties with other personnel. Report incidents that are unusual or deficient to immediate supervisor. Adheres to infection control standards. Maintains patient and staff confidentiality. Occasional Duties Other duties as assigned by supervisor Required Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
