Analyst, Debt Capital Markets - Natural Resources

Job Description What is the Opportunity? As an Analyst in the Natural Resources Group (comprising Power, Utilities, Energy and Metals & Mining sectors), you will support senior bankers in the origination, syndication, and execution of investment-grade debt transactions across the capital structure. Your primary objective will be to act as a strategic advisor to clients, providing tailored origination and financing strategies. What will you do? Assist in executing RBC’s Investment Banking activities, including capital raising and capital structure advisory for debt-related products Generate and maintain client presentations including market updates and pitch materials Analyze fixed income fundamentals and macroeconomic trends to develop client recommendations. Manipulate datasets into a visual manner Collaborate with Syndicate, Sales & Trading, Corporate Banking, M&A, Risk Solutions (Interest Rate and FX derivatives) and product-agnostic coverage Investment Banking to produce internal and client-facing materials Support senior officers in executing debt transactions, including managing internal processes, approvals, and client deliverables under tight deadlines Compile and synthesize investment-grade bond issuance data into client-friendly content Prepare and distribute indicative pricing information, market commentary, and economic updates for clients Manage ad hoc client requests and projects Collaborate with external professionals, such as lawyers, accountants, etc. What do you need to succeed? Experience: 1-2 years of previous experience in investment banking, capital markets, debt advisory, rating agency, corporate finance, or related field Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Math or related field required Knowledge: Strong understanding of capital markets; interest in investment-grade debt and the Natural Resources sector, including trends in the Power, Utilities, Energy and Metals & Mining sectors. Attributes: Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to go above and beyond Skills: Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to collaborate across cross-functional and geographically diverse teams. Opportunities to do challenging work The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $125,000 - $135,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
