About This Role

Blackstone Law's Employment Class Action team has an outstanding opportunity for a highly experienced Paralegal to join our plaintiff-side employment litigation practice. We are seeking a motivated professional with a strong background in employment law to support our growing team in Washington State. This is a full-time role, remote

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare class certification, preliminary approval and final approval filings, and class notices.
• Draft pleadings, discovery and correspondence for attorney review.
• E-file documents with state and federal courts.
• Ensure compliance with applicable court rules and procedures.
• Create tables of authorities, tables of contents and certificates of service.
• Organize and maintain electronic case files, exhibits, and evidence related to employment claims.
• Maintain and manage litigation calendars: track deadlines for discovery, court filings, hearings, and appearances.
• Coordinate court appearances, depositions, mediations, and client meetings.
• Serve as point of contact for court staff, opposing counsel, clients, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Strong class action background. 5+ years as a litigation paralegal with substantial wage and hour class action and single-plaintiff employment litigation experience at a plaintiff-side firm, including class certification, notice, and preliminary and final settlement approval.
• Washington State litigation experience. Strong knowledge of Washington and federal court rules and procedures, and of e-filing in state and federal courts. Appellate and administrative agency filing experience is a plus.
• Excellent writing, grammar and proofreading. Clear, accurate first drafts of pleadings, discovery, declarations and correspondence. Writing sample requested.
• Legal research and citation. Strong knowledge of The Bluebook, Westlaw and Lexis.
• Working knowledge of Washington and federal employment statutes (WLAD, MWA, FLSA).
• Experience propounding and responding to discovery, managing large document productions, calendaring hearings and court deadlines, and assisting with mediation, arbitration and trial preparation.
• Excellent verbal communication, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently and across all levels of the organization.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organization, with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload and multiple priorities.
• Proficient in marking and creating tables of authorities and tables of contents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (required) and legal practice management software such as FileVine, Clio or Milana (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• California experience is a plus. Paralegal work on California wage and hour class actions or PAGA matters, and familiarity with California state court procedure.
• Paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree (preferred).
