Job Title

Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Night Shift

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Full-Time | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide progressive/intermediate care nursing on a high-acuity cardiac unit, managing a patient ratio of 1:4–1:5
• Deliver post-procedural care for cardiac patients including post-cath care, TAVR, ablations, pacemaker implantations, and open-heart surgical patients (CABGs, MVRs, AVRs, aortic dissection repairs)
• Manage post-thoracic surgery patients including VATs/RATs, resections, lobectomies, and chest tube care
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including telemetry, transport monitors, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, pacer wires, IV pumps, and feeding pumps
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips including heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of RNs and PCTs in a fast-paced cardiac center of excellence

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of current acute care PCU hospital experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with chest tube management, chest tube removal, and pacer wire removal
• Ability to perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs
• Oxygen management experience up to BiPAP and heated high-flow
• Experience with vascular surgery post-operative care and TR band management
