Mill Turn Machinist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mill Turn Machinist to join our advanced manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating and programming multi-axis mill-turn CNC machines to produce precision components used in RF connectors and other high-performance applications for defense and aerospace. This position requires expertise in simultaneous milling and turning operations, tool path optimization, and working with tight tolerances on complex geometries.

Essential responsibilities include setting up, operating, and programming mill-turn CNC machines to produce high-precision parts; interpreting complex engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T specifications to ensure compliance with dimensional requirements; programming using CAM software or directly at the machine control; performing in-process and final inspections using precision measurement tools; selecting appropriate tooling and fixturing to support multi-operation machining in a single setup; working with a variety of metals and exotic materials; collaborating with engineers and manufacturing staff to refine machining strategies and improve part flow; maintaining tight tolerances and surface finishes; ensuring equipment is maintained and calibrated for optimal performance; ensuring adherence to quality control standards; following all safety procedures; documenting setup sheets and tooling lists; participating in continuous improvement efforts, lean initiatives, and training as needed; and performing other duties as directed by management.

Position requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, technical certification in CNC machining or programming preferred; minimum 6+ years of experience in precision machining, with at least 3 years operating and programming mill-turn equipment; strong proficiency in CNC programming and use of CAD/CAM software for multi-axis operations; deep understanding of multi-axis tool paths, work offsets, sub-spindles, and live tooling integration; solid knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and the ability to work from complex part prints and solid models; familiarity with high-performance materials including stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and other aerospace-grade alloys; skilled in using a variety of precision inspection tools, including CMMs; excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to optimize cycle times and minimize tool wear; strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering defect-free components; excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines; physical ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs, perform repetitive tasks, and stand for extended periods; prior experience in defense, aerospace, or RF component manufacturing is a strong plus; and ability to work both independently and as part of a self-managed team.

The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

Hourly range is from $36.63 to $54.71, plus benefit plans.
