Product Consultant, Digital Solutions Consultant

Serves as a product implementation consultant for institutional trust and custody clients, prospects, investment managers, and internal partners. Consults with clients to analyze business requirements and determine implementation needs related to custody, asset servicing, and trust products. Partners closely with clients, Relationship Managers, Sales, Client Service, and operational teams to deliver end-to-end implementation of product solutions while ensuring a seamless onboarding experience. Acts as a key liaison throughout the implementation lifecycle, coordinating activities, managing expectations, and ensuring all stakeholders understand service requirements to provide effective ongoing support. Responsible for driving successful client outcomes through strong project management, relationship management, problem-solving, and product expertise.

Major Duties

• Consult with institutional trust and custody clients and prospects to assess business requirements and determine product implementation needs related to custody, asset servicing, and trust products.
• Partner with clients, investment managers, and internal stakeholders to develop and implement effective product and service solutions, including process and operational enhancements.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Sales, and Client Service teams to gain a thorough understanding of client goals and ensure successful implementation of products and services.
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal operational teams, coordinating all aspects of account onboarding, implementation, and service setup activities.
• Develop, communicate, and monitor implementation plans to ensure products, services, and enhancements are delivered accurately and meet client expectations.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve implementation challenges while balancing client needs and business requirements. Anticipate potential issues and implement proactive solutions to mitigate risk.
• Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to Relationship Managers and business partners regarding implementation processes, product capabilities, and client service solutions.
• Meet with clients to understand their business objectives, operational requirements, and service expectations. Document client interactions and prepare status updates and reports for management.
• Coordinate and deliver training sessions for clients and internal partners, both remotely and onsite, to support successful product adoption and ongoing servicing.
• Ensure all client onboarding and implementation documentation is completed in accordance with audit, compliance, and risk management requirements. Maintain procedures and documentation to support ongoing account servicing.
• Remain current on existing and emerging trust, custody, and asset servicing products, technology enhancements, and industry trends to effectively support client needs and business growth.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge of institutional trust, custody, and asset servicing products and services.
• Understanding of trust and custody operations, processing workflows, and systems capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex client implementations and drive projects to successful completion.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage clients, investment managers, relationship managers, and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technology tools used to support implementation activities, reporting, and client service solutions.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Experience

• Typically requires 6-10 years of experience in institutional trust, custody, asset servicing, product implementation, or client servicing.
• Experience supporting master trust, custody, and asset servicing products is preferred.
• Demonstrated success managing client onboarding, product implementations, and complex service requirements.
• Proven ability to build strong client relationships and deliver solutions that support client objectives and business growth

Salary Range:

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
