Video Production Specialist

Contract position with a major investment firm. Hybrid in Newark, NJ. We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Video Production Specialist to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing the full video production lifecycle, including pre-production planning, studio and on-location filming, lighting and camera setup, audio capture, post-production editing, and content delivery. This role requires a strong visual storyteller who can translate business objectives into engaging video content optimized for digital, social, internal communications, and marketing channels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop creative concepts and video content that support business and marketing objectives.
• Manage all phases of video production, including pre-production planning, storyboarding, scheduling, filming, editing, and final delivery.
• Operate professional video equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio, and studio production tools.
• Set up and manage studio and on-location shoots, ensuring optimal lighting, sound, and production quality.
• Capture high-quality video footage, interviews, b-roll, and event coverage.
• Edit video content for multiple platforms and channels, maintaining high production standards and brand consistency.
• Incorporate graphics, transitions, music, color correction, and sound design to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
• Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to ensure video content aligns with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
• Manage video assets, footage libraries, and production files for future use and scalability.
• Stay current on video production trends, technologies, and best practices, bringing innovative ideas and solutions to the team.
• Support live or virtual production needs when required.

Qualifications Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Video Production, Communications, Media Arts, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 3+ years of professional experience in videography, video production, or a related creative role.
• Portfolio demonstrating expertise across video production, filming, editing, and storytelling.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, and Media Encoder.
• Strong understanding of camera operation, framing, composition, lighting, and audio recording techniques.
• Experience with studio production, multi-camera setups, and interview-style shoots.
• Advanced video editing skills with a strong eye for pacing, narrative structure, and visual storytelling.
• Knowledge of color correction, audio mixing, and video optimization for various digital platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience creating motion graphics and animated content using Adobe After Effects.
• Familiarity with livestream, webinar, or virtual event production workflows.
• Experience developing content for social media platforms and digital marketing campaigns.
• Basic photography skills and experience capturing still assets.
• Understanding of accessibility standards, including video captioning and optimized viewing experiences.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is a hands-on producer and creator who is equally comfortable planning a shoot, setting up a studio, operating cameras and lighting, conducting interviews, editing footage, and delivering polished final content. They are proactive, collaborative, and capable of owning projects from concept through completion while maintaining the highest standards of creative quality.

Payrate: 50 - 55/hr depending on experience.
