Quality Assurance Manager

Job Title: Quality Assurance Leader - Quality Management Systems Job Description This leadership role oversees the company's Quality Management System, drives continuous improvement, ensures compliance with ISO 9001 and other quality standards, andprovides quality oversight across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier networks. The position leads internal and external audits, manages nonconformance and corrective actions, and supports operational excellence by embedding quality into every phase of the product lifecycle. Responsibilities Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS) across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier networks. Serve as the ISO 9001 management representative and ensure ongoing certification and compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements. Ensure product quality and compliance throughout all phases of fabrication and manufacturing, including welding, machining, assembly, and final product verification. Manage certifications and interactions with certification bodies, customers, and auditors to maintain approvals and address findings. Administer document control and change management processes to ensure controlled, current, and compliant documentation. Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Manage nonconformance reports (NCR) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), including logging, investigation, and closure. Oversee the disposition and rework of non-conforming materials to minimize impact on production and customer deliveries. Drive structured root cause analysis for defects and systemic issues, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Promote Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies and maintain department key performance indicators (KPIs). Plan and execute internal audits, supplier audits, and customer audits in accordance with the audit schedule and standards. Lead corrective and preventive action activities arising from audits and quality events, and verify effectiveness and timely closure. Review contract deliverables, customer submissions, and quality records to ensure conformance with contractual and quality requirements. Ensure adherence to safety, security, and compliance requirements across manufacturing and testing activities. Establish and maintain inspection and testing procedures for fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and final product verification. Oversee calibration, inspection, and test equipment to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance with standards. Monitor and analyze defects, nonconformances, scrap, rework, and warranty issues to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Provide quality oversight and support throughout all phases of manufacturing, including complex builds such as vehicles or other complex programs. Lead and improve the supplier quality program, including risk assessment, supplier audits, and performance improvement initiatives. Partner with Supply Chain to ensure suppliers meet quality and contractual requirements and address issues proactively. Drive structured supplier corrective actions and long-term quality improvements through collaboration and performance monitoring. Define, track, and report quality KPIs such as first-pass yield, defect trends, audit results, and customer returns. Conduct deep-dive analyses on systemic quality issues and implement preventive solutions to reduce recurrence. Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and process consistency. Promote a culture of accountability, compliance awareness, and continuous improvement across the organization. Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and escalations, ensuring professional and timely responses. Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management to integrate quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle, from design through shipment. Ensure timely communication, investigation, and resolution of customer quality issues, including documentation and follow-up. Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Department, including Quality Engineers, Inspectors, Technicians, and QA Coordinators. Provide training on quality standards, procedures, and best practices to both hourly and salaried employees. Foster a strong quality mindset, professional growth, and a high-performance culture within the quality team and broader organization. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree with a focus on quality, operations management, engineering, or a related field. At least 5+ years of quality experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), including implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, with experience as an auditor or auditee. Experience in quality within a manufacturing environment, with metal fabrication experience preferred. Proven back ground in quality assurance and quality control, including inspection, testing, and oversight of production processes. Demonstrated experience with document control and change management processes. Practical experience managing nonconformance reports (NCR) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Ability to plan, conduct, and support internal, supplier, and customer audits. Strong analytical skills to monitor and interpret quality data, defect trends, and performance metrics. Effective leadership skills to manage and develop a multi-disciplinary quality team. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and customers. Additional Skills & Qualifications Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent experience is preferred. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies. back ground in aerospace or defense manufacturing is advantageous. Experience with metal fabrication processes, including welding and machining, is preferred. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or familiarity with welding quality standards is a plus. Experience serving as a management representative for ISO 9001 or similar standards. Prior involvement in complex program builds, such as vehicles or other complex assemblies. Ability to champion a culture of continuous improvement and accountability across teams. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Orlando, FL.
