Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Rochester, Minnesota.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, rotating\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Rotating, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 14, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 2\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric ICU RN with Level 1 trauma and intubated patient care experience for a rotating day/night assignment at a leading Rochester, MN hospital.Details\n \n Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) caring for critically ill pediatric patients across medical, surgical, trauma, orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, and pulmonary specialties\n Unit is a designated pediatric liver, kidney, and bone marrow transplant center\n Also cares for critical patients with congenital and complex multi-organ conditions requiring ongoing interventions\n 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week (12-hour shifts, 3 days per week)\n Day/Night rotation with shifts from 0700-1930 and 1900-0730\n Every third weekend required\n Floating required as needed\n Cardiac monitoring/telemetry skills and ability to read strips required\n Facility may call off or cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census\n Uses EPIC EMR\n Requirements\n \n Active MN RN license required, no pending license accepted\n BLS and PALS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross)\n CCRN and TCTCN certifications strongly preferred\n 2 years of recent acute nursing experience required\n 2 years of PICU RN experience required\n 6 months of travel nursing experience required, 1 year preferred\n Level 1 trauma care and intubated patient care experience required\n Solid organ transplant experience strongly preferred\n Must pass ECG exam during orientation to continue assignment\n Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program\n Additional Information\n \n Coordinate nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care\n Function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care\n Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal leadership, and quality improvement efforts\n Delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, and resource availability\n On-site position, no teleworking options available\n COVID vaccination and booster required for consideration\n Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date, requiring a 30-60 day break before returning to a new assignment\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-752980.
