Majestic Care of Middletown is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team.

Position Overview

The CNA is a member of the community nursing team whose responsibility is to assist professional nursing personnel by delivering direct hands‑on nursing care to ambulatory and non‑ambulatory residents on a daily basis. The CNA is also responsible for assisting the residents to achieve the highest level of functioning while living as normal a lifestyle as possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist or perform Activities of Daily Living (ADL) with residents.
• Respond to residents' call lights to provide maximum comfort, safety and privacy.
• Transport residents by ambulation or wheelchair to areas of the community (dining room, lobby, and activities).
• Report any significant findings or observations to the nurse immediately.
• Assist residents on admission, transfer, and discharge to ensure a smooth transition.
• Safeguard residents’ personal possessions.Keep resident rooms neat and safe.
• Follow proper infection control techniques.
• Respect the rights of each resident, particularly privacy and confidentiality.
• Re‑teach residents to perform ADL skills.
• Provide restorative care to prevent pressure sores, contractures, and other complications.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and ensure follow‑up occurs.
• Converse with residents and families; assist them in adjusting to the community.
• Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition of residents; report deviations from norm to the charge nurse promptly.
• Perform blood pressure, pulse, respirations, intake/output, and weight accurately.

Qualifications

• Certified and state tested as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of employment; certificate must be active, valid, and in good standing.
