Work Environment

This position is located in a school setting within Houston, Texas, where you will be surrounded by a multidisciplinary team dedicated to fostering healthy development among children and families. You will work from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional evening clinics available until 8:00 p.m. Expect an average workload of approximately 40 hours per week, providing a structured yet flexible schedule that supports work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and health histories, to gather comprehensive data on patient health.
• Diagnose acute and chronic illnesses, develop tailored treatment plans, and manage ongoing health concerns, with a focus on preventive care and health promotion strategies.
• Implement and participate in community outreach programs, health fairs, and educational workshops to raise awareness of health issues and resources available to families.
• Ensure the provision of culturally sensitive care, advocating for patients' rights and helping them navigate the healthcare system for optimal health outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards to ensure continuity of care.
• Establish and coordinate referrals to specialized services as needed, ensuring seamless transitions and follow-up for patients requiring additional interventions.
• Stay abreast of public health trends, medical advancements, and changes in healthcare policy that affect community health outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role centers on serving a diverse population within Houston's schools, focusing on children and families from various cultural backgrounds. Your ability to communicate fluently in Spanish will facilitate meaningful interactions and support critical health decisions for those who may face language barriers. Qualifications

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas.
• An active and unrestricted Texas nursing license.
• A Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Fluency in Spanish, enabling effective communication with a predominantly bilingual patient base.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with a strong preference for those who have worked in community health or public health settings.

Compensation and Benefits
