About the Role:

As Senior Mechanical Project Manager, you will lead commercial mechanical construction projects through the full lifecycle, from preconstruction and planning through execution and closeout. You will be accountable for project performance across schedule, budget, quality, and safety, while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Your leadership will ensure mechanical systems are designed, engineered, and delivered to meet stringent client, regulatory, and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage commercial mechanical construction projects from contract award through turnover, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
• Lead full project lifecycle planning, including preconstruction, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout activities.
• Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction schedules (CPM) using tools such as MS Project or Primavera, driving timely completion of key milestones.
• Oversee mechanical systems design coordination and engineering review, ensuring constructability, compliance, and integration with other building systems.
• Direct and coordinate project teams, including internal staff, field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and design partners, to achieve project objectives.
• Manage project financials, including budgets, cost tracking, change orders, and forecasting, maintaining profitability and financial control.
• Conduct ongoing risk assessment and mitigation planning, proactively identifying issues and implementing corrective actions to protect project outcomes.
• Review and manage project documentation, including plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and contract documents, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution.
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring clear communication throughout the project.

Key Requirements:

• Significant experience (typically 7+ years) managing commercial mechanical construction projects as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
• Proven track record overseeing large-scale mechanical scopes on projects up to $50M or similar complexity.
• Strong proficiency in construction project scheduling, including CPM methodologies and use of MS Project and/or Primavera.
• Demonstrated experience with mechanical systems design and engineering coordination (HVAC, plumbing, piping, or related building systems).
• Hands-on experience managing full project lifecycle, from preconstruction through closeout, in a commercial or institutional environment.
• Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including general contractors, owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field staff.
• Strong skills in risk assessment and mitigation, with the ability to anticipate issues and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail and accountability for results.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience delivering projects in environments such as healthcare, higher education, data centers, high-rise, or large institutional facilities.
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and other construction management or collaboration platforms.
• Background in complex mechanical systems, including central plants, mission-critical cooling, or specialized HVAC applications.
• Experience in value engineering, constructability reviews, and optimization of mechanical designs for cost and performance.
• Prior responsibility for mentoring and developing Project Managers, Project Engineers, or other project staff.
