Heavy Equipment Operator - Residential Projects

Lester Brothers Excavation is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our residential excavation team. We are seeking someone who takes pride in quality work, operates equipment safely and efficiently, and enjoys working on a variety of residential projects.

This position involves projects such as basement excavations, driveway construction, drain fields, utility installation, drainage improvements, and site development. Experience in residential excavation is required, but candidates do not need experience in every type of project we perform.

What You'll Do

• Operate excavators, skid steers, dozers, and other construction equipment.
• Perform residential excavation and site development work.
• Assist with basement excavation, drain field installation, driveway grading, utility work, and drainage projects.
• Read grade stakes, site plans, and utility markings.
• Work closely with project managers and fellow crew members.
• Help coordinate daily jobsite activities.
• Perform final grading and finish work.
• Maintain safe, clean, and professional job sites.
• Complete basic daily paperwork and equipment inspections.

What We're Looking For

• Previous heavy equipment operating experience and residential excavation experience required.
• Expert-level skid steer operation on a residential job site required.
• Experience with two or more of the following: basement excavation, driveway grading and site development, septic systems and drain fields, underground utility installation, drainage work.
• Ability to read grades and construction plans.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with a small crew.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to obtain a DOT physical and Chauffeur's license.
