Become a part of our team at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in San Francisco, CA, as a Physician - Psychiatrist (Acute Recovery Center)!

The Inpatient and Interventional Psychiatrist will act as the Attending Psychiatrist for the Acute Recovery Center Inpatient Unit, delivering psychiatric care to veterans in need of hospitalization. This role also encompasses both inpatient and outpatient interventional psychiatry services, including ketamine infusions, electromagnetic stimulation treatments, and transcranial magnetic stimulation, as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Additionally, the psychiatrist will mentor UCSF trainees and provide backup support for on-call residents at the facility. The incumbent will work alongside a diverse team to offer mental health services to veterans diagnosed with conditions such as schizophrenia, other psychotic disorders, and complex mood disorders, including major depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and anxiety disorders.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Engage in a robust clinical program focused on patient outcome metrics.

• Operate within the limits of assigned privileges.

• Adhere to the bylaws, rules, and regulations of the organization.

• Fulfill medical staff requirements for initial and ongoing appointments, including continuing medical education (CME).

• Follow established record-keeping protocols in line with organizational guidelines.

• Abide by information security policies and procedures.

• Collaborate effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

• Participate in educational initiatives and scheduled meetings within the Medical Service.

• Engage in peer reviews and uphold quality assurance standards.

• Complete all assigned health record and peer reviews within designated timelines.

• Perform additional duties as required.

Board certification is mandatory due to the affiliation with UCSF.

• Expected Salary Range: $300K - $315K (negotiable based on qualifications and experience).
• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
